”About Xue Mei Rhodin

Xue Mei Rhodin has earlier studied at The Swedish School of Textiles at University of Borås, The Department of Journalism, Media and Communication (JMK) at Stockholm University and Stockholm International Trade School (SIH). She started painting-lessons together with a local artist as a six-year old and continued with studying art at a local artschool at the age of nine. As a 16-yearold she sold clothes to friends and family but didn’t start her previous label, Baobei de Bijoux, until 2007.

In 2008 she started her own signature label, Xue Mei Rhodin, already sponsoring Nobel Night Cap, The Nobelbanquettes exclusive afterparty, during the same year.

The collections of Xue Mei Rhodin is glamourous with a vintage touch, focusing on the distinctive details in traditional kimono tailoring and the siluette of Paris- and Beijing-fashion of the 40’s.

With a background as a japanese fashion-festival coordinator and lecturer in japanese modern fashion at Stockholms Unviversity, Xue Mei Rhodin is influences by both traditional kimono tailoring and japanese popculture as well as contemporary chinese art, Alice in Wonderland and her french/german grandmothers wardrobe and jewelry-box from the 40’s. ”
